Designing the Front Yard for Curb Appeal NEW
How often is the front yard of a home reduced to a jumble of plants along the foundation with an unwelcoming walkway to the front door and garage doors that are architecturally more prominent than the front door?  This presentation will focus upon how to give a home that great sense of ‘Curb Appeal’ through properly enhancing the architecture of the house while also making your visitor feel welcome.  If possible, please submit pictures and dimensions of your front yard in advance as several will be selected for in class discussion and development.  Class limited to 18 students.

Designing the Mixed Border NEW
Shrubs are the garden's main backbone, but the textures and colors of shrubs are greatly enhanced when paired with perennials.  The first week of this 2-session class will cover the elements necessary for creating an exciting mixed border with year-round interest, including thoughts on design and maintenance considerations, plus a palette of reliable plants.  As ‘homework’ everyone will assist in designing a border in the Gardens.  During the second class, we will discuss the homework, develop a finalized plan and then implement the plan, allowing everyone to understand spacing and changes that need to be made in the field.  Please dress accordingly!
